Author Guidelines

Guidelines for Authors – Editorial Standards
1. Scope and Focus

RIPEDES publishes scientific articles, theoretical essays, critical reviews, and experience reports focused on teacher training, pedagogical innovation, assessment, curriculum, mathematics education, public policies, and ethnomathematics.

Works that contribute to the advancement of academic and scientific debate in the field of Education are accepted, with theoretical, methodological, and ethical rigor.

2. Types of Contributions Accepted

Scientific Articles:
Original texts resulting from empirical, theoretical, or review research, with methodological rigor and relevant contribution to the educational field.

Experience Reports:
Texts that describe pedagogical practices, extension projects, didactic innovation actions, and teaching-learning experiences, with critical reflection on results and implications for teaching.

Theoretical Essays:
Reflective and argumentative texts that discuss contemporary themes in education, methodologies, public policies, or innovative theoretical perspectives, based on solid references.

Reviews:
Critical analyses of books, dissertations, theses, technical reports, or films that address educational themes, innovation, and teaching.

Interviews:
Conversations with educators, researchers, or managers who have recognized experience in the field of education, technologies, and teacher training. They should present contextualization and thematic relevance.

Event Abstracts / Technical Notes:
Short texts intended for the dissemination of field notes, partial project results, brief communications, or extended abstracts of events promoted by G-TERCOA or FACED/UFC.

3. Structure and Formatting

Length: 10 to 15 pages.

File: Word format (.docx).

Font and spacing: Arial 12, 1.5 line spacing; 1.25 cm indent on the first line of paragraphs.

Margins: top and left 3 cm; bottom and right 2 cm.

Header and Footer: 1.25 cm.

Footnotes: avoid; if indispensable, use Arial 10, single line spacing.

Citations and references: follow ABNT standards (NBR 10520 and NBR 6023).

Indirect citations: Silva (2017) or (Silva, 2017).

Long direct quotations (>3 lines): 4 cm indent, no quotation marks, Arial 10, single line spacing.

Titles and subtitles: numbered (if necessary), in bold.

Title: up to 15 words, in uppercase and bold.

Language: Portuguese, English, and Spanish.

Figures, tables, and charts: numbered, with title (Arial 12) and source; they should appear close to their mention in the text.

Images: good resolution and legibility at 100% zoom.

Dialogues and examples: Arial 11, italic, single line spacing, 1.25 cm indent; source identified in parentheses.

4. Author Identification and Required Documents

Works with up to 4 (four) authors are accepted.

Each author must provide their ORCID iD number and correctly fill in the institutional affiliation metadata.

During submission, the author(s) must send the following mandatory files:

Main manuscript

A copy of the complete text without any author identification (names, institutions, acknowledgments, metadata, etc.) to ensure double-blind peer review.

Author identification sheet

A separate document containing:

Full name of each author;

Institutional affiliation (institution, city, country);

Email;

ORCID iD number;

Link to Lattes Curriculum;

Description of each author's individual contribution (e.g., conception, data collection, analysis, writing, revision, etc.).

Document signed by all authors, declaring:

that the manuscript is original;

That all agree to the submission to RIPEDES;

and that they authorize publication if the article is accepted.

The declaration must contain full name, signature, and date.

5. Submission Process

Register on the journal's platform.

Submit the required files according to the guidelines above.

Correctly fill in the metadata:

title, abstract (up to 250 words), and 3 to 5 keywords (separated by semicolons).

Attach the spelling and grammar review declaration, signed by a qualified professional.

6. Peer Review

All works are submitted to double-blind peer review.

The average turnaround time is up to four weeks.

Possible editorial decisions are: accepted, accepted with revisions, or rejected.

7. Ethical Aspects

Works with plagiarism, self-plagiarism, or data manipulation will be rejected.

Research involving human subjects must comply with CNS Resolution No. 466/2012 and present an opinion from the Ethics Committee when applicable.

The guidelines of the Committee on Publication Ethics (COPE) regarding scientific integrity and editorial conduct apply.

8. Final Considerations

Before submitting, please verify that the manuscript follows all the rules described here and the ABNT guidelines. Failure to comply with the rules will result in the manuscript being returned for adjustments before being sent for evaluation.

Submission Preparation Checklist

All submissions must meet the following requirements.

  • This submission meets the requirements outlined in the Author Guidelines.
  • This submission has not been previously published, nor is it before another journal for consideration.
  • All references have been checked for accuracy and completeness.
  • All tables and figures have been numbered and labeled.
  • Permission has been obtained to publish all photos, datasets and other material provided with this submission.

Artigos

Tipo textual: científico / empírico / teórico
Descrição: Textos originais resultantes de pesquisas empíricas, teóricas ou de revisão que contribuam para o avanço do conhecimento na área da Educação, com rigor metodológico e contribuição relevante para o campo educacional.. Devem apresentar fundamentação teórica consistente, metodologia clara e discussão relevante para a formação docente, inovação pedagógica, tecnologias educacionais ou práticas de ensino-aprendizagem. Todos os artigos são submetidos à avaliação por pares em sistema duplo-cego.

Relatos de Experiência

Tipo textual: descritivo-reflexivo
Descrição: Trabalhos que descrevem e analisam criticamente experiências pedagógicas, projetos de extensão, práticas de sala de aula, ações de inovação didática ou iniciativas de formação docente. Devem evidenciar o contexto, os objetivos, as estratégias adotadas, os resultados e as reflexões decorrentes da experiência. Os relatos são avaliados quanto à relevância, clareza e contribuição para a prática educativa.

Ensaios

Tipo textual: reflexivo-argumentativo
Descrição: Textos de caráter opinativo e de natureza reflexiva e argumentativa que discutam temas, tendências e problemáticas atuais da Educação, sob diferentes perspectivas teóricas. Não se exige a apresentação de dados empíricos, mas o texto deve demonstrar consistência teórica, originalidade e capacidade crítica. Submetido à avaliação por pares em sistema duplo-cego.

Resenhas

Tipo textual: crítico-descritivo
Descrição: Textos críticos sobre obras recentes (livros, dissertações, teses, filmes ou relatórios técnicos) de interesse para a área educacional. A resenha deve apresentar o objeto analisado, sintetizar seu conteúdo e oferecer uma apreciação fundamentada sobre sua relevância, contribuições e limitações. Não é submetida à avaliação por pares.

Entrevistas

Tipo textual: diálogo / jornalístico
Descrição: Diálogos com pesquisadores, educadores ou gestores que tenham atuação reconhecida na área e que contribuam com reflexões e experiências significativas no campo da educação e da formação docente. As entrevistas devem ser precedidas de contextualização e apresentadas em formato claro e acessível. São avaliadas pelo Comitê Editorial quanto à pertinência temática e qualidade do conteúdo.

Resumos de Eventos / Notas Técnicas

Tipo textual: informativo
Descrição: Textos curtos que apresentem resultados parciais de pesquisas, relatos de projetos em andamento, notas técnicas, resumos expandidos de eventos ou registros de atividades promovidas pela comunidade acadêmica. Avaliados pelo Comitê Editorial quanto à clareza e relevância para o campo educacional.

The names, email addresses, and other personal information provided to RIPEDES will be used exclusively for the journal's editorial purposes — such as contacting authors, reviewers, and readers — in accordance with good scientific publication practices.
These data will not be shared with third parties or used for purposes unrelated to the editorial process, in compliance with Law No. 13.709/2018 (General Data Protection Law – LGPD).
The editorial team adopts technical and administrative measures to protect the information stored in the Open Journal Systems (OJS), used for managing submissions and publications.
